This Privacy Policy explains how Citizen Coach ("the App") collects, uses, and protects user information.
Information We Collect
We may collect account information (such as email), usage data, interview session transcripts, audio recordings (if applicable), device information, and subscription status. We do not collect unnecessary personal immigration records unless voluntarily provided.
Public Profile Visibility
Your profile picture and display name may be visible to other users within the App, such as on the global leaderboard. This visibility is strictly for App functionality and community engagement. We do not sell your profile picture or any user data to third parties for marketing or any other purposes.
AI Processing & Usage
Because the App uses AI, it may occasionally make mistakes or generate inaccurate transcripts. If you use AI mock interviews, Citizen Coach sends your spoken answers, audio recordings for transcription, answer transcripts, and interview context to OpenAI through our Supabase backend. OpenAI processes this data to generate interview questions, transcripts, and practice feedback. The app asks for your permission before starting an AI mock interview and before sending this data.
Driving Mode & Background Audio
The App offers a 'Driving Mode' that allows for hands-free audio playback. We do not collect GPS location data, track your driving habits, or actively record your voice while this feature is in use. Playback progress is securely saved to your account to maintain your study history.
No Government Data Sharing
The App does not share user data with USCIS, the U.S. government, or any immigration authority. The App is independent and private.
Payment Processing
All payments and subscriptions are securely processed by Apple (for iOS users) and Google (for Android users), and managed via RevenueCat. The App does not store full credit card numbers or sensitive payment details. Payment processors handle payment data in accordance with their own security and privacy policies.
Analytics & Performance Monitoring
To ensure the App runs smoothly and to improve user experience, we use third-party performance and analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Firebase (Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring). These services may collect anonymous usage data, device information, and crash reports.
Data Retention
We retain user data only as long as necessary to provide services, improve the App, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Users may request account deletion subject to legal requirements.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect user data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
No Legal Advice
Information generated within the App, including AI responses, does not constitute legal advice. Users should consult official USCIS materials or licensed immigration attorneys.
Google AdSense Advertising & Cookies
We use Google AdMob and AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies or device advertising identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to our App and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or by modifying your device's ad tracking settings. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
International Users
